My awesome Aunt and Uncle from South Africa sent Phil and I an amazing piece of artwork. It's a painting from a local artist in South Africa!! They thought it was really tropical with the palm trees and thought it would look great in our "tropical" house. It's painted on linen or canvas I guess its called - very thin and it rolls up like a poster for now. We're not sure yet if we will frame it or have it made into a canvas painting (where they put wood on the back and then you just hang it on the wall). I don't want it to get damaged so I may go with the frame so that it stays protected. It's so unique and we love it. :) Even my 12 mega pixel camera didn't do it justice, but it really is an awesome piece. We think we'll hang it in our bedroom but we might have to get a new beadspread to match it! We have a "green" theme going on and this painting is more brown, yellow, redish ... we'll see! I also got a super cool delux wall frame set from my lovely husband so I have to get to a photo lab and print up some wedding pictures so I can have him hang them on the wall (since they are also so tropical they do fit with the "decor").
