Ruggles, Ziggies, Zoe's, Poet's and Pirates ...

My first trip to Houston Texas was a fun and memorable weekend. My mom and I headed to the lonestar state to celebrate the end of her chemo run :) oh and to see Keith Urban!! Just getting to and from Houston was an adventure. When we left our flight was on time but then we got placed in a holding pattern because of a storm and "ran out of gas" and got diverted to Louisiana. We finally made it to Houston on Friday just a few hours late! I ended up meeting my friend Blair at her awesome tennis club on the top of the Galeria mall. It was fun to get a glimpse of her everyday life and see the nice club she helped develop. She showed me around Rice and then we grabbed dinner at Ruggles and just sat and chatted. It was nice to get caught up on months and months of each other's lifes and actually sitting and eating instead of running (which is how we usually catch up!). She also just recently got engaged so congrats again Blair as I know you are one of my 3 or 4 blog readers! lol ...
Saturday we headed to Patty's barn and met a lot of horses before we went to the concert. The concert was great! Gary Allen, LeAnn Rhimes, and Keith rocked it out! Mom and I stood and danced and had a blast! Kenny was great too as usual and the highlight of my concert was when Keith AND Kenny sang together, really cool and you can see that they're good pals. We ended up taking a very early flight home to WPB and people had begun to "freak out" about Tropical Storm Fay so we ended up catching a flight to Fort Lauderdale, we did however get home a lot earlier than we would have on the late late flight. All in all it was a fun weekend and mom and I had a good time :)

Dell ~ this donkey's for you :)

The beach after Fay ...

Was crazy! All the erosion on the beach caused for mini wave pools. Levi was in heaven as he loves to be able to walk and get in the water and let's face it the waves send him running for the hills or the dunes in this case! We had a fun time and the beach was SUPER crowded but still made for a fun and unusual Sunday walk on the beach :)

This one you can see how deep it is and then shallow and then ocean ... weird!

And so it starts

Today was the first Saturday of college football, the day that wives lose there husbands, and girlfriends lose there boyfriends. I woke up this morning to that familiar espn/college game day tune and shades of red and black as he searched for the perfect "lucky" game day shirt. Sure this wasn't the hardest game of the season but it was the first. Thankfully they came out on top and everyone in the Skelton house today remains happy. One of the funniest things that happened was when phil and I were watching the game phil shouts "Hey, there's my mom!" Sure enough it was her ... on TV! And when we rewound the TV (thanks tivo) Randy was in there as well. Pretty hillarious, seeing as not 15 minutes before that I said hey text your mom and tell her we saw her on tv ... how wierd it really happened! Well here's to the next few months and may Saturdays be happy days from here on out :) Goooooooooo dawgs ... sic'em :)
